Veneered cladding with the doors hidden inside it

The brief was a modern corporate headquarters, and the defining move was veneered wall cladding with integrated hidden doors. A conventional door interrupts a clad wall — the architrave breaks the panel rhythm and the eye stops there. Here the doors are built into the cladding so they read as another panel until they open: flush face, no visible architrave, concealed hinges. This only works when the doors and the panelling come out of the same workshop and the same veneer batch, cut so the grain runs through the door as if the wall were continuous.

TV wall units

Corporate interiors have to hide a great deal of equipment — screens, cabling, connections, storage — without looking like storage. Bathrooms

Modern bathrooms formed part of the same package. Joinery in a wet room is a different specification from the rest of an office: substrates have to tolerate humidity, every edge including the underside and the back needs sealing, and the finish has to survive daily cleaning.
