About · Mkalles, Beirut · Est. 1996
Thirty years
at the bench.
Mohammad Sakr founded this workshop in 1996. Three decades on it is still a family business — and the people who measure your walls are the people who fit the work when it is finished.
Who We Are
We are a joinery workshop, not a showroom. Everything we quote we build ourselves, and everyone who installs it works for us. That is the whole reason the detail survives the journey from drawing to wall.
One bench,
thirty years.
Mohammad Sakr started this workshop in 1996 with a small set of machines, a rented floor, and the belief that a piece of joinery is only as good as the person who has to answer for it. Thirty years later the machines have changed and the floor is our own, but that part hasn't moved.
We are a family workshop in Mkalles, on the eastern edge of Beirut. We make kitchens, wardrobes, wall panelling, doors and fitted cabinetry — for apartments, villas, offices, banks and shops. Some of it is drawn by an architect down to the shadow gap. Some of it starts as a photograph on a phone. Both get built the same way.
Why the workshop matters
Most of what goes wrong in joinery goes wrong in the handover. A designer draws it, a trader sells it, a factory builds it, and a separate crew installs it — and by the time it reaches the wall, nobody in the chain is accountable for the gap that doesn't close.
We removed the chain. The same business that measures your walls builds the work and fits it. If a run of panelling doesn't sit right, there is one name to call, and that name is on the door.
What we actually do
- Custom kitchens — new builds and renovations, including occupied homes
- Fitted wardrobes and walk-in closets, dressing rooms and bedroom joinery
- Wall panelling and wood cladding, feature walls, clad ceilings
- Internal doors, hidden flush doors and certified fire-rated door sets
- Office, retail and hospitality fit-out — reception desks, display millwork, boardrooms
- Specialist work: marble-clad chimney structures, stainless-steel-and-timber integration, carved detailing
How we're set up
Boards are E1-grade. Moving hardware — hinges, runners, lift systems — is Blum, because a kitchen is judged on how it feels after five years, not five days. Every project carries a two-year workmanship warranty, and we answer new briefs within 48 hours.
We work across all of Lebanon, and we treat it as a single service area rather than a set of zones. Read more about the materials and checks we build to, or look at the work itself.
What Makes The Difference
Four things we don't compromise.
We Build What We Sell
No trading, no outsourcing the cabinet and calling it ours. It is cut, assembled and finished in our own workshop.
Our Own Fitters
The team that installs is on our payroll, not a day-rate crew hired for the week. They know how the piece was made.
Samples Before We Cut
Finish, veneer and colour are signed off on a physical sample. Nobody discovers the tone at installation.
We Say No
If a drawing won't build, or a material won't survive the humidity, we flag it in writing before anyone commits.
Who We Build For
Three kinds of client.
Homeowners
People renovating a kitchen, fitting out a new apartment, or finally building the closet the bedroom was always missing. You do not need drawings to start — we measure and draw.
Architects & Interior Designers
Studios who need their detail built as drawn, and their client relationship left intact. We work behind your name, not across it.
Contractors & Businesses
Main contractors pricing a joinery package from BOQ, and businesses fitting out offices, branches and shops — sometimes overnight, so trading never stops.
Common Questions
About us — FAQ.
How long has Mohammad Sakr been in business?
Since 1996 — thirty years. It has been a family-run workshop from the start, and it is still run by the family today.
Where is your workshop?
In Mkalles, at Jisr El Bacha on the eastern edge of Beirut — Bouri Building, Mar Elias Street. Visits are by appointment so someone is free to walk you through the work in progress.
Do you actually build the furniture, or do you import it?
We build it. Cutting, assembly, veneering and finishing all happen in our own workshop in Mkalles, and our own teams install it. We are a joinery workshop, not a showroom reselling imported units.
Do I need drawings from an architect before contacting you?
No. Plenty of our residential work starts with a phone photograph and a rough idea of what the room should do. We measure the space and produce the drawings ourselves. If you already have an architect, we build to their detail instead.
What areas of Lebanon do you cover?
All of it. We treat the whole country as one service area rather than a set of zones. Site measurement and installation are done by our own teams wherever the project sits.
What warranty do you give?
Two years on workmanship. If something we made or fitted fails in normal use within that period, we come back and put it right.
