Doors · Lebanon

A door is the piece of joinery in a building that gets touched most and forgiven least. We supply the leaf, the frame and the architrave as one set, made from the same batch of material, so the reveal is even and the door still closes properly in year five.

Detail

Where a door goes wrong.

01

The Frame, Not The Leaf

Most door complaints are frame problems. We make the frame and leaf as a matched set so the reveal stays even down both sides.

02

Movement & Humidity

Lebanon swings from dry summers to damp coastal winters. Leaves are built as engineered cores with balanced facing so they stay flat rather than cupping.

03

Hinges Sized To The Leaf

Concealed hinges from Krona Koblenz, Simonswerk or Emka where the door should read as part of the wall — and high-specification ball-bearing hinges where a conventional hinge is right. Count and size are set by the weight of the actual leaf, not by habit.

04

Ironmongery That Matches

Handles, locks and closers coordinated across the whole project so no room ends up with the odd handle nobody can source again.

Proven on
live projects.

Fire-rated doors, certified

Commercial buildings, shared corridors, kitchens and plant rooms need fire-rated door sets with documentation the authority and the main contractor can actually accept. A leaf on its own is not a fire door — the rating belongs to the complete set: leaf, frame, intumescent seals and ironmongery, tested together.

We supplied, finished and installed certified fire-rated door sets for the Beirut Fruit & Vegetable Market, delivered as a contracted package under the main contractor Ramco alongside the commercial kitchen joinery.

Hidden doors in panelled walls

When a wall is clad in veneer, a normal door interrupts it. A concealed door is built into the panelling rhythm so it reads as another panel until it opens — flush face, no architrave, concealed hinges, and a push latch or a hidden pull.

This was the approach across Prime South HQ, where the veneered wall cladding runs continuously and the doors are set into it. It works only when the doors and the panelling come from the same workshop and the same veneer batch — which is the argument for buying both together.

Doors at volume

Residential developments need the same door repeated accurately dozens of times. We produced the full door package across all twenty-four apartments at Ashrafieh 2240, along with the kitchens and joinery, so every unit was handed over to one standard.

If your project is a single apartment, doors usually come as part of a wider package with wall panelling or wardrobes. If it is a commercial fit-out, see office and commercial millwork.

Common Questions

Doors — FAQ.

What hinges do you use?

Concealed hinges from Krona Koblenz, Simonswerk or Emka where the door should sit flush and read as part of the wall — the choice between them usually comes down to what the client prefers. Where a conventional hinge is the right answer we use high-specification ball-bearing hinges, from ranges such as Archie. Hinge count and size are always set by the weight of the actual leaf.

Do you certify your own fire-rated doors?

No — we do not issue fire certification ourselves, and nobody outside an accredited testing regime should claim to. We work with manufacturing plants that supply certified fire-rated products, finish them to our standard, and install them to spec, so the set reaches site with the manufacturer’s certification behind it. The rating applies to the complete set — leaf, frame, intumescent seals and ironmongery — not to the leaf alone.

What is a hidden or flush door?

A door built flush with the wall face, with no visible architrave and concealed hinges, so it reads as part of the panelling until it opens. It only works when the door and the surrounding panelling are made from the same veneer batch in the same workshop.

Can you make doors to match existing ones in my apartment?

Usually yes. We take a sample or detailed photographs and measurements of the existing door, match the profile and finish as closely as the material allows, and tell you honestly before starting if an exact match is not achievable.

Do you supply the frame and architrave as well as the door?

Always. We supply the complete set from one material batch. Buying a leaf from one supplier and a frame from another is the most common reason a door reveal ends up uneven.

What door heights can you make?

Standard heights through to full floor-to-ceiling leaves. Tall doors need heavier hinge specification and a stiffer core to stay flat, which we size to the actual leaf weight rather than to a default.

Do wooden doors warp in Lebanon's humidity?

Solid slabs can. We build leaves as engineered cores with balanced facing on both sides, so the panel stays dimensionally stable through the swing from dry summers to damp coastal winters.
