Scope
The Brief
A private sauna and steam room in Faqra, built entirely in hardwood — a wellness space that has to perform under heat and humidity every day, not just look good on the day it is finished.
Our Approach
We fabricated and installed the full timber interior — slatted hardwood walls, ceiling and benching wrapped around the heater, with backrests, buckets and fittings finished to the same standard. Every joint is built to move with heat and moisture rather than fight it.

Hardwood, built to move
A sauna interior lives through daily cycles of heat and moisture that would ruin ordinary joinery within a season. Every wall, ceiling and bench is slatted hardwood, spaced and fixed to expand and contract without cupping or splitting — the kind of detailing that only shows up as a problem years later if it is skipped.
Benching built around the heater
The tiered benches wrap the heater on two sides, sized so the heat reads evenly across the room rather than baking one corner. Buckets, ladle and backrests are finished in the same timber so the room reads as one built object rather than a kit dropped into a box.
A private wellness space in the mountains
Built as part of a private property in Faqra, where a sauna and steam room are as much a part of the house as any other room — worth the same standard of joinery as the living spaces around them. See wall panelling and cladding.
